The power of women working togetherCFUW (Canadian Federation of University Women) is a non-partisan, voluntary, self-funded organization with over 100 CFUW Clubs, located in every province across Canada. Since its founding in 1919, CFUW has been working to improve the status of women, and to promote human rights, public education, social justice, and peace. The CFUW is also the largest affiliate of the Graduate Women International (GWI), tackling global issues and presenting women from around the world with a common ground on which to meet.

About our ClubOur club members represent a cross-section of women in our community. We are teachers, business women, homemakers, health care professionals, engineers, and lawyers. We enjoy sharing ideas, supporting community programs and meeting for a variety of social activities.

MeetingsMonthly meetings are held at the Pickering Rec Centre (meeting rooms above the main lobby), 1867 Valley Farm Rd, Pickering on the 2nd Thursday of each month, from September to June. Meetings feature speakers covering a variety of topics of interest to members. Members also enjoy a variety of interest groups providing opportunities for social outings during the club year.

Community ServiceAs part of the 100 clubs in the CFUW network, the Ajax-Pickering Club is committed to helping women and girls reach their potential. We advocate for equitable rights for women and girls and for human rights in the areas of the environment, education, the work place, and politics. Locally, our club awards scholarships for students in each Ajax and Pickering high school every year.
