Interest Groups and Activities
CFUW Ajax-Pickering has a wide variety of activities that club members can get involved in. From monthly speakers to interest groups to advocating for change for our communities, there is something for everyone. Interest groups are a great way to get to know other club members, especially if you are new to the club. Joining one or several of these groups gives you the opportunity to spend time with members with similar interests. Feel free to join as many as you like (or start a new one!) You are only limited by the amount of free time you have available!
Read our latest newsletter for more information on upcoming interest groups and club events.
Ladies Gourmet
If you like to cook, this is the interest group for you! As hostess, you set the menu and distribute the recipes – no cooking required! Attendees each make a dish from the themed menu and bring it to the dinner for everyone to enjoy.
Couples Gourmet
Experience the joy of gourmet cooking with your spouse. Similar to the Ladies Gourmet group, members of this interest group each make a dish from a themed menu chosen by the hostess and bring it to the dinner for everyone to enjoy.
Ladies Golf Group
Enjoy an evening out on the links at a local golf club. No previous golfing experience required! New members are always welcome!
Outdoor Adventure Club
Are you interested in getting outside and doing something physical with your fellow CFUW friends? If so, consider joining this Interest group! Activities include hiking, environmental clean-up activities, bowling, mini-golf and a variety of other activities to keep members active.
Theatre Group
For those who love drama and the arts, this group meets to enjoy theatre outings together. Enjoy many of the wonderful local community theatre offerings available or take in one of the shows downtown in Toronto!
Gardening Group
You don’t have to have a green thumb to join this group. Just bring your joy of gardening! Outings to seminars and garden tours are some of the activities enjoyed by this group.
Issues and Advocacy
Interested in making a difference in your community? Do you enjoy current topics and working as a team to encourage change and improve our way of life? This interest group meets to study current affairs, particularly those of interest to women, and learn how to actively work with government groups to improve policies and procedures.
